How does Entocycle ensure quality?

One of our top priorities is ensuring the highest quality of everything we do; whether that’s within customer service, product development or communications.

We’re committed to sustaining high standards throughout the entire business matrix, and we hold ourselves accountable everyday to ensure we’re consistently delivering to such a standard.

At a facility level

The equipment in our facilities is designed and engineered for high throughput and long lifespans, typically reaching 20 years.

From robotic arms to the materials used in the walls, we consider every single element in our facilities to ensure we’re leveraging the lifespan to as long as possible.

Our engineering design is founded in lean principles where we design-out inefficiency. Our team of expert Entomologists and Engineers, coupled with industrial-scale R&D capabilities at our Centre for Insect Technology, can rapidly develop, test and validate solutions to meet the demands of industrial facilities.

We’re constantly monitoring biological and environmental parameters throughout the facility's production lifecycle. Temperature, humidity, air flow and growth stages (to name a few) are all tracked to allow our team to intervene early where necessary, and maintain consistent conditions across all production batches.

At a product output level

We’ve standardised the production of insects at-scale at a product output level.

Our automated machine vision and learning systems monitor, count and dose billions of insects to maintain only the highest quality and accuracy.

Our commitment to formal standards also adds credibility to our control methods and we’re proud to be the first UK company to deliver an insect facility that meets the GMP+ feed standards.

Research and Development

When we identify a pain point with one of our products, or a bottleneck in our system, we conduct rigorous research and development through rapid prototyping to not only overcome the hurdle, but to be better because of it.

When undertaking an R&D project, our teams go through extensive quality control processes to optimise the product - see here for an in depth example.

Through a continuous improvement mindset, we’re regularly conducting internal testing, monitoring and validation to ensure optimal product performance, product consistency and operational reliability.

Our Entomologists and Engineers work hand in hand to translate experimental insights into operational improvements across our facility, ensuring new product development and improvements work in tandem with the natural behaviour of our Black Soldier Flies (BSF).

Staff Expertise

Our multidisciplinary team is the secret to our success.

Entomologists, Engineers and Commercial Experts, all combining their unique expertise to continuously optimise processes while maintaining rigorous quality standards, we really do have a world-class team here at Entocycle.

Not only is every member of our team knowledgeable, qualified and experienced, they’re also personable and great fun to work with. Find out more about our team here.

Whether we’re talking about quality of products, facilities or team members, we strive to be the best of the best in everything we do. We remain committed to reaching for consistently high standards throughout our business, with accountability and awareness at every stage of the process.
